After many years as a retail buyer and manager in the heritage sector, I was ready for a change. When I was younger I always wanted to work in publishing and now I do.  Proofreading was the best option as I could train in my own time and work from home. I have always read a lot and love to see words used to their best effect.

I trained with the Publishing Training Centre, taking their Basic Proofreading distance learning course and passing with merit. I followed this up by studying with the SfEP (Society for Editors and Proofreaders), completing Proofreading 2 and the Mentoring scheme.

I graduated from Glasgow University with an MA in History of Art and French. I would be happy to work on most subjects but areas of special interest are:

  • Retail management
  • Heritage industry
  • Art and architecture
  • History
  • English literature
  • Music
  • Popular culture
  • Fiction

I am a member of the SfEP and adhere to its code of practice.
